PCOS Project

A project of knowledge, cysterhood, & health.

About PCOS Project

About PCOS Project

What is PCOS Project and its purpose?

(1) A Place To Get the 411 on complicated Medical Jargon and Medical Literature so that it’s understandable and easy to digest.

How many times have you been at the doctor and left with absolutely zero clue what was actually going on with your health? As brilliant as our healthcare providers are, sometimes they forget that we haven’t gone to medical school. Our goal is to give you a breakdown of the complicated medical terms and research, and make it a little easier to understand. No more frantically Googling the terms your doctor mentioned in your last appointment, or the meaning of a strange lab result. While we may not be doctors, we can help you break down the meaning of the medical lingo (since it’s basically a foreign language if you’re not familiar with it!).

(2) A Place To Vent and Discuss What It’s Like to Live With PCOS

Living with PCOS is frustrating. Some days, it makes you want to punch things (or people), throw a tantrum that would put a 2 year old’s to shame, or scream into a gosh darn pillow.

Nearly ONE in TEN women suffer from this disease. As we all know from experience, PCOS affects our minds as much as it affects our bodies. How frustrating is it to try to be the healthiest version of ourselves and see absolutely no progress?! There are literally no words. The best we can do is pound the keyboard like this 234ot 2hoipr. There ya go…. That’s the feeling right there.

(3) A Place To Spread Awareness About PCOS and Spark Change

While we may not be able to fully put the feelings of frustration into words (though we can try!), what we CAN do is provide you with every resource available to arm yourself with knowledge on the condition, provide a platform and forum to discuss our symptoms and meet other cysters, and hopefully, maybe, help bring PCOS awareness to the general population and healthcare community so that we can transform the way that PCOS is being treated currently.

(4) A Place To Create Hope, Discuss Successful Treatment Options, & Give Encouragement

ONE IN TEN women of childbearing age is dealing with this condition – YOU ARE NOT ALONE. There is hope for weight loss and symptom management. If you are in the thick of it and feeling like there is no hope, please don’t give up. Reach out to us at PCOS Project or to another cyster that’s had success with something. DON’T STOP TRYING.

Please utilize all the info on this site and feel free to send us a message on instagram or email us if you’d like to see information that we don’t currently have! Any information or experience shared, means that another woman can benefit and thus, may not have to go through the same experience. Grow through what you go through, and use it for good. If we are truly in community, then we can provide SO much benefit to one another!

More on Morgan, The Creator of PCOS Project:

I was diagnosed with PCOS at the age of 15. I understand your pain gal pals.

Being the obsessive researcher that I am, I’ve spent the last 11+ years searching for a way to live a happy and healthy life and be the best version of myself I can be. Now, this wasn’t all rainbows and unicorns – I’ll be straight with you. There were lots of ugly cries, horrible doctor visits and tests, weird medication side effects, and mood swings along the way. (Shout out to everyone in my life who loved and supported me through this – I’m looking at you specifically mom). I cannot tell you how many different roads I’ve been down, full of hope that maybe this will (finally) be the one that yields results. Alas, disappointment always follows and yet again I am ugly crying, convinced that I will never find anything that helps me manage my symptoms or lose the weight that causes my symptoms. It’s a darn vicious cycle isn’t it?!

I am now in my mid/late-twenties with a degree in Human Biology. My health issues absolutely shaped my interests in college, and I continued to do research outside of school as well. I have also worked in recovery centers for psychiatric patients doing art and music therapy, worked in quality initiatives in quality control for hospitalists, and spent time working on initiatives for rare disease research in relation to organ donation. Most recently, I managed a product line at a laparoscopic medical device company that specifically treats women with cysts and fibroids. Currently, I freelance as a wellness coach and work full-time at an awesome company that helps online publishers do what they love full-time. I live in Southern California and love to hike. If any of you lovely ladies are in the area, shoot me a message – I’d love to meet up for a hike!
